Sick Scarlet Macaw bird dies at Nandankanan Zoo

A rare species of Scarlet Macaw bird has died at the Nandankanan Zoo.

According to reports, the male macaw was sick and died while undergoing treatment. The bird was not eating and was sitting in a corner of the cage. It was shifted to the isolation ward of the veterinary center for treatment.

It is worth mentioning that on September 12 this year, four scarlet macaws (two males and two females) were brought to Nandankanan from the Radha Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust (RKTEWT) in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The organization is part of Vantara, run by Anant Ambani. However, after the death of this bird, only three scarlet macaws are left in Nandankanan now.
