Jajpur - Four people died in a house fire

Four members of a family were burnt to death in a horrific fire that broke out in a house in Nalipur village of Jajpur district on Saturday evening. The deceased include a 10-year-old child and an 8-month-old baby.
The fire broke out at around 8 pm in the asbestos-roofed house of S.K. Nizamuddin in Nalipur village under Badachana block and Balichandrapur police station.
Jajpur SP Yashpratap Shrimal clarified that four people died in the fire.
According to initial reports, the cause of the fire is not yet known. The fire quickly spread throughout the house and the house was completely gutted. The deceased include Nizamuddin's elder daughter-in-law, his daughter who had come to visit his father-in-law, his 10-year-old granddaughter and his 8-month-old grandson. Four of them died on the spot.
Another youth, who sustained serious burns in the fire, has been shifted to Badachana Medical College for treatment.
On receiving the information, the Chandikhol Fire Station personnel and Balichandrapur Police reached the spot and initiated rescue operations and other necessary measures.
The heartbreaking incident has cast a shadow of grief and terror across the region. Thousands of people gathered at the scene after news of the incident spread.
